INFANTS 4: FOOD

Hello everybody!

In class, children are learning new vocabulary about FOOD:
banana, apple, pear, orange, melon, fish, chicken, eggs, pizza, hamburger, yoghourt, cookies, etc.

Also, they had to answer the following question: Do you like....? Yes, I do / No, I don't.

The mini-teacher was dressed up like the cook of a restaurant and other children had to ask for their favourite food.

Then we played a game with the song: "The wheels of the bus", where 2 children formed a tunnel and chose their secret favourite food. The rest of the children had to form a train and go under the tunnel singing the song, until the music stopped, so one child was trapped under the tunnel.

Then this child had to answer the question: Do you like ______ or _______? and he/she would go behind the child whose favourite food they had chosen.

We had fun and spoke English at the same time! Enjoy the pictures!

Hello!

We revised the vocabulary about the members of our family:
DADDY, MUMMY, BROTHER, SISTER, BABY, GRANDPA, GRANDMA

and we studied the parts of the house:
BEDROOM, BATHROOM, LIVING ROOM, GARAGE, GARDEN, KITCHEN

Children had to draw their family in their house and present it to the rest of the class.

STORYTELLING: INFANTS: PIRATE PAT and THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR

Infants 4 and Infants 5 have celebrated World Book Day with several storytelling sessions by parents.

In Infants 4, Berni, Valeria's dad, came to school dressed up like a pirate to tell us a story about

PIRATE PAT.

In Infants 5, Carol, Emma's mum, and Rosana, Ana's mum, came to school to tell us a beautiful story:

THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR, by Eric Carle.

Children listened with a lot of attention and they revised vocabulary about animals, days of the week and food. We played with the flashcards and we saw real caterpillars in a box. They were indeed very hungry!!!

INFANTS: 4-year-olds: DOMESTIC ANIMALS domino

Hello,
Infants 4-year-old children have learned new vocabulary about domestic animals and we have practised these new words playing dominoes in class.
Animals: cow, sheep, horse, duck, pig, rabbit, hen (chicken), cat, dog, etc.
Every child will take a domino home, so they can play with their families.

INFANTS 4: GOLDILOCKS AND THE 3 BEARS

Hello,

We have watched and listened to the famous fairy tale: GOLDILOCKS and the 3 BEARS.
Then, 4 volunteers have represented this beautiful story in class by means of a role-play.
FAAAANTASTIC!!! Well done everybody!!!
-Characters: Daddy Bear, Mummy Bear, Baby Bear and Goldilocks
-Concepts: numbers, size (big/medium/small)
-Vocabulary: family, forest, house, bed, chair, bowl, etc.
-Emotions and values: I'm hungry, I'm tired, surprise, apologies (I'm sorry), etc.

• Primary Year 2: collage made with pictures with our Christmas cards on our Christmas tree and the game we played in class to practise clothes: Santa Claus is cold!

• Children from Infants 5 sang the song "Oh Christmas Tree" and we made a Christmas card to take home.

 

• Children from Infants 4 sang this song today at school: I'M A LITTLE SNOWMAN. We also made a special snowman to put on our Christmas tree at home: OLAF from Frozen!

INFANTS 5: MY FACE

MY FACE Infants 5 have been learning the parts of the body and the face. We played some games with Mrs Potato and we had fun together. They are very motivated and love singing this song, please have a look!! Thanks everybody!!

INFANTS 5: WILD ANIMALS

Today we have practised new vocabulary about wild animals by playing dominoes. All children were grouped into 5 teams and there was a competition to see who finished all their cards first. Everybody was very excited to see who was the first one to finish and they learned a lot and had fun at the same time.

INFANTS 5: LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD

In Infants 5 we have listened to the story of Little Red Riding Hood, in connection with the World Book Day, which we celebrated on 23rd April.
Then, we acted out the story to make it more fun and interactive for kids. Marcos, Marta and Paula played the roles of the charactes in the story: the Wolf, the Granny and Little Red Riding Hood.
We had lots of fun and we learned at the same time :-)

Today all girls and boys from Infants 5 have presented to the rest of the class their pictures of their family and their house. For example: "This is my mummy in the bathroom. This is my daddy in the kitchen. This is my brother in the living room. This is me in the bedroom." Thank you very much to all ! Enjoy the pictures!

INFANTS_ENGLISH_HAPPY EASTER

HAPPY EASTER!! Infants 4 have prepared a lovely Easter card with a little chick to wish all their families a Happy Easter. We have also listenend to this song in class and we enjoyed ourselves playing some games together.

INFANTS_SONG: OLD MACDONALD HAD A FARM

Infants 4 are learning the animals who live on the farm: cow, horse, sheep, dog, cat, pig, rabbit, chicken (hen), bird, duck, goose. To make it more fun, we have sung together the famous song Old MacDonald had a farm.

All children from Infants 4 and 5 have listened to the story by Eric Carle: From Head to Toe. This video shows all the parts of the body we have learned together: Head, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, chest, back, hip, knees, legs, feet and toes :-)
